This vivid monoprint was created using vintage letter type salvaged from an old shed in rural Idaho. Each small block carries its own history—once part of a working press, now repurposed as an abstract grid of shape and texture.

Rolled in a gradient that moves from deep crimson to warm orange, the piece celebrates both the physicality of traditional printing and the beauty found in forgotten materials. The uneven impressions, gaps, and worn edges of the letter forms create a rhythm that feels almost musical—an artifact of analog craftsmanship transformed into a contemporary visual field.

Both a study in color and a tribute to historic printmaking tools, this work preserves the story of the old type while giving it a new voice.
